2016 began with a New Year resolution to travel far and wide. Atleast a trip a month that includes seeing a country and a state I haven’t been to before was part of the pact and I am happy I could manage the mammoth task that I signed up for. One February afternoon, Air Asia announced a sale and a return trip to Phuket was booked in a jiffy. The only criterion I had in mind while choosing the International destination for 2016 was cheap air tickets and Visa-On-Arrival for Indians. Thailand was a dream, one which unfolded layer by layer and kept surprising me each day. Dream Phuket
While Phuket is famous for it’s nightlife and beach parties, I am someone who doesn’t really care about both. So, my Phuket itinerary did not include pub hopping. Instead, it was all about Phuket’s pristine secluded beaches, vibrant markets, super friendly people and pretty temples. Dream Phuket Hotel and Spa offered to sponsor our stay and everything fell into it’s rightful place. We could not have asked for a better beginning to our Thailand trip. Our stay at Dream Phuket turned out to be as surreal as a dream.
Dream Phuket is a little far off from Patong, where all the action really is. But then it was perfect for me and Aditi from Aditi’s Monologue because we were looking for some peace and quiet along with pretty views. Pubbing and booze wasn’t on our mind anyway. Dream Phuket is located near the Dream Beach, which is almost a secluded strip of sand, far away from the maddening crowd. Dream Beach Club at Dream Beach became our favourite spot in no time as it offered delicious food and a super view of the ocean. At Dream Beach, we had a gala time playing mermaids in our newly acquired colorful bikinis. And then we had a sumptuous lunch at the pool side, trying to convince ourselves that we deserve the dream we were living that day.
We stayed at Deluxe Pool Suite by Dream Phuket which could easily be the best accommodation we were in while in Thailand. The suite was nothing but grand, with two huge beds and baths, a nicely done sitting area with a kitchenette and our own private pool which we fell in love with. With an all-day access to the pool -I almost felt like a kid in a candy store.
It felt that a lot of thought has been put into the rooms at Dream Phuket and every amenity one could hope for was there, from a microwave to a refrigerator, from a hair-dryer to a bathtub. Everything about the suite was perfect and frankly, I didn’t want to come back or even leave for Bangkok which was our next destination.
Dream Phuket pampered us with the best of everything. Super hospitable staff made sure we were comfortable and had a great time. Being a vegetarian, I was a little apprehensive about food at first, but then Dream Phuket took care of that as well. Their in-house restaurant, Trilogy is a must try if you’re staying here. They had a few vegetarian options for lunch/dinner and I absolutely loved what they served. They even agreed to customize their Thai Fried Rice in the dinner menu to be made vegetarian. I particularly loved their Vietnamese Spring Rolls, Nachos Salad and Sticky Rice with Mango.
We visited Dream Phuket’s in-house bar, Indulge for a welcome drink which was a signature drink made of fruits and vodka. A delicious combination of tropical fruits and a beautiful ambience made sure we felt it was all too good to be true. But then that’s how Dream Phuket pampers you!
They also have a roof-top bar and restaurant which once again, is just out of a fairytale. We spent a lovely time soaking in the sun here and made friends from across the globe.
Dream Phuket is a piece of paradise in itself located far away from chaos, but right beside nature’s lap. An offbeat traveller would love this slice of luxury and solace. It’s the kind of a place where once can spend the whole day lazing around in picture perfect surroundings. And if you wish to check out chaos of Phuket, a free of cost ferry is available which takes you to Patong. You can check out more details about Dream Phuket here.
